Resign Rate/Percentage and Decline
Sorry if something like this has been brought up, I did a search and found nothing.
So, I think resigns should be put on profiles. Maybe the number of resigns or the percentage rate at which that person resigns. Now I know this would cause problems. If I saw someone that resigns 50% of the time than I of course would want to resign after the first turn. That's why I think when playing random opponents you should both be allowed to decline after you've both made your first turn. This however should not be allowed on friends lists.
Now I realize that people who resign a lot would probably be declined a lot, but that's what they get :P
Also, allowing declines will help better players play more other better (challenging) players.
People put in words in Wordcrac that are not real words just so they can beat people who put in real words. Why are these words allowed?
if I made a challenge request and the challenger is one that I do not aant to play, can I delete them without resigning and losing the game?
people who resign should automatically go back down a level!!
Make people finish the game and then they can block you.
No resigning. Finish what you started. Even if it takes a 100 days.
We what real people not cheaters.
Before accepting a challenge I look at the opponent's profile. The stat can be very informative. Game played vs games won is a good indicator of player habits. When a player has an outrageous score for best word played and a low win percentage I have no problem with declining the game request.
I don't mind losing in a fair game. Of course winning fair and square is always sweeter!!
I agree completely.
Good for everyone commented
I should be able to resign completely.
What makes it clear someone is cheating? There are people who can do a NYT Saturday crossword in minutes. I am sure there are people who are that good at Scrabble, too!
I only resign when it's clear that the opponent is using a scrabble cheat dictionary. I don't want to help cheaters get better stats.
Why allow resigning at all.....I would just like to see resigns count as losses. It's irritating how many people choose to resign because they are going to lose--feels unfair. Also if the game times out, it should be counted as a win/loss for whomever is win/lose at that time. I have seen some just let the game time out, so they don't have it count as a loss. Or I would love to have option of not playing against people who resign from games. Why allow a resign at all.
This game is great! Could you add a score reduction for competitors that do not respond after a certain amount of time?
We have problems with our internet connection and it really annoys me when l finally connect to find l have been involuntarily resigned from all games....not fair play!
Lsme. I NEVER play people with stats of 40 or 50 because they are most likely using a cheat app or helper.
Love the game but how annoying when you are just about to get your best score and the opponent resigns. Deduct 100 pts from their score and add 100 to yours if the resign is near the end. Also the leader should be given a win and the resigner a loss. Only played a few games and not sure if this happens.
I've been burned multiple times by rude players that resign for no reason at the end of a game when I'm about to earn a badge. If a player resigns, that should count as a loss for them regardless of the score. Quitters are just sore losers anyway.
This game should ask if you're sure you want to resign..I've clicked on a player and game it resigned me without me requesting to resigning game ..
I think you should be able to see their resign rate as too many players are in it to win, not come 2nd. I had one player who was offering comments on how I could improve my game. I played several games against him and he flogged me every time. No problem, I play for fun and actually learn from the better players. However, when I eventually beat him he declined a rematch which says it all. I am very lucky that I have been playing 3 of my chums virtually since I started and I love it
I win a bunch, and I lose a bunch. I don't really care either way, because I play for fun. That being said, there have been a few times when I wanted to resign a game because I strongly suspect they are cheating. Cheating becomes obvious when every word they make is long and unheard of. I don't resign, but I will comment on all of their highly unusual words. I do not enjoy the rest of the game. After the game ends, I block them.
I had a 130 point word last week and my opponent quit the game so Zi didn't get credit for the word! Aarrgghh.

I don't like it when an opponent resigns; I prefer to play a game to the end whether I win or lose. But I really think that showing a player's resign/pass percentage is a bad idea. It's negative and shaming, not at all in the spirit of this friendly game. In fact, I propose an "I don't want this!" button is also added to these suggestions.
