I have been playing this game for a long
Time! Long enough that I know that it is very much rigged, so that you have to spend money or time to play.
Most words that are common enough to be in all of the dictionaries that I have ever seen, just don't seem to be a word in this game.
Because you see, if they were then you would never need to use any of the extras that they make money on. If you don't believe me then try it for yourself and soon enough you will have to admit that it is exactly what is wrong with this game.
Even if you don't want to spend money and just want to earn coins by watching videos, they gotta there too. Really 8 coins to watch a 60 second video? But if you are lucky enough to get a 30 second video, you can earn either 20 or 24 coins. But they are few.
Just want everyone to know that you can't expect to play this game in a real way, unless you of course don't mind spending hard earned money for coins, that you have to have if you want to play to win.
Are there any honest games? Probably not!
The word list has over 175,000 words and should have all common words. Sometimes this occurs when other words are being formed at the same time or tiles are being played along more than one row or column. Every place there are two or more tiles touching must form a valid word. There could also be a stray tile on the board somewhere which will not let it validate any words. You can send a screen shot if you still have the turn.
Words that are usually capitalized..names of places, people, etc. are not valid words. So things like the days of the week, month names, countries etc. are not on the list. Thanks!
We do add words to the word list when people report missing words that are in one of the major scrabble dictionaries.
This link has more info on that: https://wordchums.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/221163-word-list-bounty
It's a business, they have families to feed, same as everyone else. The money you spend is mainly for cute costumes, but you don't need to pay a cent to play the word game. It's just a combination of vocabulary and strategy. I don't play to win, I play to have fun, personally.
Honestly, like support said your probaly just doing it wrong. I have been playing this for years and never seen this. So when you say " play for awhile and see" your lying. I love this game and have earned many coins and points just by using the 175,000 words already provided. Thanks but this is just bad info you supplied.
Tess, 'quid' is a roll of tobacco, or slang for a pound (currency), not just the Latin word.
Crux also will not play.
It appears that litre is not the issue but eden, the word it is paired with which is odd. It would not let me play Zeus or Jehovah but a chumbot played a Greek female diety. This is confusing.
Litre will not play but your chumbot played thunk??!
Vardo would also not play, the Romani/gypsy wagon.
Add dias as well please, as in podium.
Quo would not play for me. As in status or quid pro. Interestingly quid played.
Hmmm, you're sure you've never mused or thought aloud? ;)
I love playing Word Chums! HM is not a word I have ever come across so I wish it would be removed!!
Braewood if you go to settings and hit Auto-Zoom Board you can turn it to off. Then it doesn't zoom in like that. Also that's a lame excuse for not playing the game.
Breawood you can turn that feature off.
Whenever you try a letter anywhere on the board the screen enlarges so the entire board is no longer visible. I find this extremely annoying especially since reducing the board is not easy. For this reason I prefer to play Words with Friends.
You do have to spend time to play of course. I think I spent a couple f pounds to get the ads removed but apart from that I haven't spent anything.
I don't know what game you're playing. I've had a great experience with Word Chums. And have not spent a dime. I don't use bombs or hints, either. But the developer must pay game designers and staff to answer our questions, so they ask us, the players, to willingly endure commercials for coins. And there's the option to upgrade. If you're spending lots of money, real or coins, you may benefit from examining your intentions for playing at all.
I have never spent a dime and earn plenty of coins...
I have just began to play and so far really like it.

I have had a few legitimate words not accepted (which I believe are mostly used in Britain), and it's a little annoying especially when a fair amount of US slang is accepted. But it's not rigged (though perhaps slightly biased
I do agree that it should be easier to earn coins, but rigged? I LOVE this game, and the support team is pretty great too.
There have only been a couple words that wouldn't play for me, but that's something I can easily deal with, with the wide range they have.
