More evenly match random games
A person who is playing their first game shouldn't have to compete against a game veteran
Being matched with somebody way below your level of skill is boring and a waste of time. Often I think my opponent is a little kid. It would be better to say 'sorry, we can't match you up with an equally skilled player' than to give us an unmatched opponent.
I'm sorry for the typo in my previous comment.
My scores improved after I matched with a players many many levels above me. I don't play the way she does, I don't use the words she does but I learnt strategy and tips from her: from observing her moves and her use of Chum accessories (yes, that counts too!), and occasionally asking questions.
Instead of complaining, newer player could do the same. The Help section has many similar tips.
Yes, matches need to be computed by avg word scores not levels! The levels are too deceiving when someone is simply
a new player!!!
Score can often depend on tile selection, whether you have sufficient coins to purchase bombs or hints or energy (I.e. Allowable score boosts), and if this particular game is played in such a way as to allow for the amazing words you can form to actually be placed.
So no, the proposed new scheme won't work: it will actually penalise a player like myself who sometimes scores over 500 and sometimes scores mid-300s.
Maybe try searching the Internet for the many sites that teach strategy for this word game, and learn some vocab.

I think the best way to solve this would be the following. Levels don't work because a player might be eg level 63 owing to number of games played. However a really good player might be only be level 19 due to being a new player or doesn't play much. Solution as follows : put players into groups by average word score. 10- 20 pts. 21-30 pts 31-40 pts 41- 50 pts. That way random opponent. could be matched with player similar average score. Therefore some of the monsters won't get matched with fun players and beginners. Simple really.
i agree. i can beat the moderate level easily, but go up one level and I cannot win a game
Hopefully we can add more options for matchmaking in the future. Thanks for the feedback.
