I think it's fair that 2nd and 3rd get ribbons, in the Olympics, 2nd and 3rd get medals so why not in Word Chums? It's kinda pointless getting the award which has a ribbon with 2nd on anyway when you get the congrats message, when you can't see on your chum the same ribbon.

I'm 41 and I adore butterflies, you can love them at any age, I'm sure when butterflies land on me and sit on my head and on my hand they aren't thinking Oh she's 41 so she can't love me.

They are beautiful delicate things, Chalkhill Blues and Red Admirals, Swallowtails, the Cabbage Whites.

I've just posted this idea, as part of my wanting red hair options, I would love that beautiful floral January hat with long red wavy hair on my Scrambles cat, I don't want my chum bald with a hat on! I kind of want it to look a bit like me, as its representing me.

I used to play in Scrabble tournaments, have a degree in Literature, and worked as an arts journalist/sub ed, however, in Word Chums, I regularly encounter players who have a stupendously consistent high scoring word after word, 6 or 7 letters, and/or beat me due to letter permutations and tiles dealt, or strategic moves.

I have refused to play games with a handful of suspected cheats, but I will concede that with some players, they may just be better than me, get tiles that make better words, or spot words and strategies I've missed. You can even learn words from the suspected cheats, so its not all bad.

I don't think the level matters so much, that's just length of time playing it, you could have a high level and not win so many games. What counts is high word scores and high scoring games on a vast level.

I don't cheat, so if anyone wants to play against me its CreativeJas.

We will always review the AI (Artifical intelligence) of the Chumbots. We have made more changes over time to the non-genius chums to limit their vocabulary. At this point we have not limited the Genius level very much. They play big because they can play from most of the 180,000 word list. An average person knows 10,000-20,000 words. They will only pass if they can’t make a word. They don’t do Swaps or Bombs so they can get stuck at times with no words to play.

Every game starts with the same 98 letters. (There is a list of the letter counts on the knowledge base). Chumbots and players randomly draw from the same pool of letters. It seems like they get the best letters because they can often make big words with whatever they have because they have so many words to choose from.

    Martin especially can play some…

I cannot as yet beat the Genius Chums, their word knowledge is phenomenal and surpassing that of any Scrabble player I have played, and I used to play in tournaments, and have a degree in Literature, and they have whomped me hollow! The hard level is tough enough, and although I realise the strategy is different to Scrabble in that there are quadruples and more bonus words and letters, but essentially its very similar, only much more fun. (Maybe the cat should be called Scrabbles the cat ha ha)

I think the AI would benefit from being modded, its not so much the word knowledge as the length of average words they conjure, and of course, I do experiment with letter permutations to make words I've never heard of. Its not like playing a genius human player, its like playing an algorithm, which as we know even top chess players like Kasperov struggle with.
